Price List and terms for image conversions and album layouts.

First Order - Image conversions only.
Conversion of RAW images to .jpg.  Up to 30 images  FREE
Why FREE? Well, I’m prepared to invest my time in my business and I realise that you will not want to risk your money on something that you don’t know if you will like or not.

Subsequent orders              Up to 150 images    £30
                                        Up to 300 images    £50
                                        Up to 500 images    £90

I will always try my hardest to balance the colours to give the most pleasing result for the end user ie YOUR CLIENT.  The files I send you will be more than acceptable to your client even if they might not be EXACTLY how you would have done them.  This is always going to be the case.  No one in the world will do EXACTLY what you would do - if you need that then the only way to get it is to do it yourself.

Album layouts from files I have already worked on.
Up to 15 (double) pages  £45
Up to 30 (double) pages  £80
Discount after 10 albums per year.

Click here to see what a double page spread can look like

To do a reasonable looking layout I try to aim for an average of 4 images per double page spread.
i.e. up to 60 images for a 15 (double) page book.

Yes, of course it is possible to put more images in but it will look rubbish (sorry, not as good!)

To make good layouts I need:
1 Good background images.  If you don’t take them I can’t use them!
2 Space around subjects for merging and fading.  Please don’t crop too tightly.

I will try to work closely with you to produce as good a job for the client as possible.  Have no fear - I will be honest with my critiques!

What you have to do
Open a Pando account.  Go to Pando.com  and download the software.  Link at the top of this page.  They do 2 versions - a slow one is free (and it’s not so slow) and the paid for one is quicker, accepts larger files and doesn’t have adverts and only costs about £13.00 - a bargain!  Pando is an award-winning, personal-P2P software that lets you easily download and share large files (and folders) via email, IM and the Web.
You can send images by CD/DVD but I’d rather you Pando’d. If you are sending a lot of work I have an FTP account - please contact me for details.
You have to number your files in the order you would like them in the album.  This is VERY important.  If you use 2 or more cameras and don’t know how to time sync them, just ask. At the very least photograph this web page with both cameras at the start or end of the day and I’ll sync the files later.  If you click on the full screen window link on that website it’s even better.

The whole idea of this is to work as a partnership - you tell me when I’ve missed something or done something wrong and I will tell you!
If I have to spend an hour trying to guess which order they should be in then I’m not going to do your next order at this ridiculously low price.
IMPORTANT
Image numbering should be 001, 002, 003 etc not 1, 2, 3, because some software would then put the images in this sort of order - 1, 10, 11, 100, 101, 110, 2, 20 ----you get the idea?  Again, if you don’t know how to do it, just ask.
It is really important and my prices are based on things being as easy as possible for me to complete your order efficiently.  If I have to renumber all your files I have to charge more.

FAQ’s
1) Who are you and why should I give you a try?
Well I’ve been in professional photography all my working life.  I’m a Fellow of The Master Photographers Association and Associate of The Royal Photographic Society and the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers.  I was awarded a Presidential award by the Master Photographers Association 3 years ago in recognition for my services to the photographic industry and I am a Director of the MPA.  I worked for A H Leech as colour printer and assessor way back in 1969 and was self employed for 20 years in the social photography field.  I have been involved in digital photography since Nikon brought out the D1 and worked on imaging on computers since 1982. (Adobe Photoshop V1.2!)

2) Do you work on .jpgs instead of .RAW?
NO.  If you think you don’t need to shoot in RAW then you obviously don’t need me.  At the prices I’m offering I don’t have time to mess about with initial .jpgs.  Colour balancing .jpgs to each other is my worst nightmare.  If you can do it that way - fine - but I don’t.
Seriously,  the answer should be yes - just X the cost by 1.5 and I’ll do it.

3) Do you retouch images?
With no further cost???  Get real :-)   Tell me what you want and I’ll quote for it with pleasure.

4) Could you lay out albums without changing my files?
Yes I could but if requested I do just that - I don’t change your files so make sure they are right or the full page will look bad if one image doesn’t match the rest.

5) What if I don’t like the layout?
I send you an emailed proof of the layout.  This has the image numbers on each page and I will then do requested changes included in the price.  If you want further changes after I send you the redo email the cost is £5 per page changed.  In my experience it is better for you to show the first design to your client and let them decide the changes rather than you changing things and then letting your client change things afterwards.  Doing it that way costs you both time and money.

6) How long does it take?
You should get the files back by Pando in less than a week.  Again, I will work closely with you at all times.  You can contact me by mobile phone and Skype in case of emergency!

7) How do you do it for the price?
I’m semi retired but would like to earn some money while keeping in touch with my passion, photography.

8) How do I pay?
You transfer the money into my UK bank account as soon as I Pando the files back to you.  If you miss a payment, guess what - I don’t do your next order until you do.

9) I want to give it a try - what next?
